Yes, you must declare it as property income (just like for an apartment).
As the owner of a parking space, how do I declare this income on my tax return?
This is a common question, and declaring property can sometimes feel like a real headache — we’ll try to simplify it for you.
Who do I declare the rental income to?
When you rent out a parking space that you own, you must declare the rental income to the tax authorities.
This income must be declared under the category of property income (“revenus fonciers”) under the real regime (régime réel), unless you qualify for the simplified micro-property regime (micro-foncier) for unfurnished rentals:
If your income from unfurnished rentals (parking, apartments) does not exceed the threshold of €15,000, you fall under the micro-property regime.
Conversely, if your income exceeds €15,000, you fall under the real regime.
Our invoices serve as proof of rental income and can therefore be submitted to the tax authorities.
Where can I find a summary of my income?
You can find the summary of income to declare in your Partner Interface, under the “Income” tab.
Invoices and accounting documents serving as proof of this income are available in the “Accounting” tab of your interface.
And what about VAT?
As a private individual, you are not required to declare or pay VAT if your rental income from the parking space is below €36,500 (source).
Is that all I need to know?
Almost! You must also complete the occupancy declaration for your parking space rented through Zenpark.
